WHO WE ARE

Karyn Chin
Partner & Leadership Director

Karyn finds joy when she is helping people find opportunities to lead and building strong communities. Karyn has a background in advocacy, leadership development, and communications. By bringing her experience as a fundraiser and grassroots organizer, Karyn has been running and winning campaigns in Wyoming since 2016.

Karyn co-founded Mountain Movement Strategies with longtime friend, mentor, and colleague Skye Schell to reach a shared dream -- developing talented and effective civic leaders across the state in order to build a Wyoming that works for the next generation.

This year, Karyn will be moving into a tiny home with her daughter and making questionably useful things out of clay.

Grant Gallaher
Project Manager

Grant is passionate about getting more people involved in Wyoming politics, leadership, and advocacy. He specializes in grassroots organizing, leadership development, and political research, in addition to a substantial base of project management experience.

Grant leads the field organizer and voter contact efforts for Mountain Movement Strategies.

During the 2022 election cycle, Grant trained and led 19 emerging community leaders to knock doors, engage with voters, and, ultimately, help pass a slate of local ballot measures. He has taught leadership training programs across Wyoming, with participants that have gone on to run for office and win, serve on public and nonprofit boards, and find jobs as community organizers themselves.

Skye Schell
Founder & Partner

Skye dreamed of running a campaign management firm for 15 years. While learning political campaigns as a volunteer, he worked in social services, developed policy and projects with rural, urban, and Tribal communities, and served as executive director of a nonprofit. Skye has managed and won campaigns for candidates and ballot measures including raising $10M for wildlife crossings and $20M for housing.

Skye launched Mountain Movement Strategies with Karyn in 2023, building a values-based campaign management firm that can grow and sustain new political talent and help forward-thinking leaders win across many election cycles.

Skye enjoys spreadsheets, facilitating effective meetings, running, climbing, hunting, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog.
